A little about Kate

Kate Shepherdson has been making art since she was old enough to hold a pencil, and occasionally used the walls when the paper ran out. Her love of drawing started early and has been a steady thread throughout her life.

Kate is a self-taught artist based in Geelong, working across traditional watercolour and acrylic painting, as well as hand-painted ceramics and large-scale murals. What began as a creative outlet slowly grew into a professional practice shaped by years of observation, curiosity, and experimentation.

Her work often returns to themes of connection: between humans and animals, people and place, light and shadow. With a background in the horse racing industry and a lifelong affinity for the natural world, Kate brings a thoughtful eye and grounded sensitivity to everything she creates.

She now shares her practice through original artworks, collaborative commissions, and community workshops. Always led by her love of storytelling through art.

“Art is my way of sharing how radiant and alive the world can feel when we pause to notice.”
