Art inspired by connection, light and the natural world.

Kate Shepherdson is an artist based in Geelong, working across traditional watercolour and acrylic paintings and large-scale murals.

Through her work, Kate captures the gentle connection between animals, people and place, often returning to horses as a central subject. Her style is grounded in observation, layered with light, and shaped by an enduring appreciation of the natural world.

Kate Shepherdson Art brings this practice to life. Offering original pieces, collaborative commissions and large-scale works that highlight the quiet magic of everyday moments.

“We have the privilege of owning one of Kate’s earliest ventures into mural art. Our inner-city home has a large boundary wall and from the French doors in our bathroom we now look out onto her bespoke artwork. It’s in a perfect location, she developed the trompe l’oeil window theme, bringing the wall to life. It also reflects in our bathroom mirror which always makes me smile. Originally, we suggested a blue wren and Kate worked with us to creatively include our interests in cycling and travel into the design.”

"Absolutely in love with my two paintings that I got done! Kate went above and behind to make sure I was happy with them and sent regular updates while in the process. They are a perfect gift idea for a friend/ family member! Would highly recommend!"

“Kate is a wonderfully talented painter. She did two commissioned works for us, and we were absolutely thrilled with the results. Both pictures related to a racehorse in which our son previously had a share, so they were so meaningful for him. There is such warmth in these paintings. Kate is such a delightful person to deal with as well. Can't recommend her more highly.”

Whether you're drawn in by the art, a project in mind or a desire to learn, Kate Shepherdson Art is a space shaped by connection, care, and curiosity.
